Religious Statement for Entitlement

Religious Education Statement of Entitlement

At Cadmore End, we believe every child is entitled to high-quality Religious Education that develops understanding, encourages thoughtful questions and promotes respect for others.

As a Church of England school, Christianity has a central place in our RE curriculum. Children also learn about other religions and worldviews, exploring how beliefs influence people’s lives and recognising diversity within and between communities.

RE provides opportunities for children to consider questions about meaning, purpose and belonging. We encourage them to express their ideas, listen respectfully to different perspectives and develop their own understanding in a supportive environment. Teaching is adapted so that all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, can participate and make progress.

The Church of England’s Statement of Entitlement below sets out the expectations for RE in Church schools and informs our approach. RE is a curriculum subject, separate from collective worship.

Please read the document below alongside our Religious Education curriculum information and RE Policy.
