Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE) and Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE)
At Cadmore End, PSHE helps children understand themselves and others, build positive relationships, make informed choices and know how to keep safe. Our teaching reflects our Christian vision and values and is adapted to the needs of pupils in our mixed age classes.
Children learn about relationships, physical and mental health, online safety and living in the wider world, including money and aspirations. Statutory Relationships Education and Health Education are taught through PSHE. In Class 4, Years 5 and 6 also receive an age appropriate lesson about how a baby is made. Our Sex Education Policy explains this lesson and parents’ right to request withdrawal from it.
We use a two year programme: Cycle B was taught in 2025–26 and Cycle A is taught in 2026–27. The long term plan below shows when topics are taught, and the progression maps give further detail for each key stage.
