Nursery Nurse
 

Overview:

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated nursery nurse to join our mixed nursery and reception class within our small Church of England Combined School and nursery. 

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Level 3 who have just started their career or those who are experienced.  

 

Being part of a small family orientated school, you will work with a dedicated supportive team that has our vision at the forefront of every decision we make - ‘From Small Beginnings, Come Great Things.’ The Parable of The Mustard Seed.

We are a small, caring and very friendly combined school and nursery consisting of 78 pupils! Our parents and local community are supportive and welcoming. About the Candidate:

The successful applicant will:

Skills, aptitude, knowledge and experience

-          Have a minimum of Level 2 BTEC/NVQ in childcare

-          Previous experience of caring for, or working with children aged 0-5 in a voluntary or paid capacity

-          An understanding of the Early Learning Goals

-          Knowledge of the National Standards for the regulation of Childcare provision

-          A commitment to the provision of high quality childcare

Personal qualities

-           Good organisational, record keeping and planning skills

-          Punctuality

-          Excellent communication skills, with children, colleagues, advisors and parents/carers/carers.

-          Patience

-          Empathy with children, colleagues and parents/carers/carers

-          Reliability and trustworthiness

-          A positive approach to inclusive practice, with children and colleagues

-          Enthusiasm for working with young children

-          Be sympathetic to the ethos of a Church of England school

-          Enjoys staff socials and have a good sense of humour!

Qualifications:

-          Completion of a recognised Level  2 or 3 Childcare qualification, e.g. Level 2 or 3 Certificate for the Children & Young People’s Workforce, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development – or be working towards completion

-          A positive approach to gaining further qualifications

-          Some understanding of the importance of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene in the workplace

-          A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training opportunities

Completion of safeguarding training
