Meet Millie – Our School Dog in Training!
We’re excited to introduce Millie, our headteacher’s chocolate Labrador, who has begun her training to become a full-time member of our school community!
Millie is learning to take on an important role in helping us create a positive, nurturing, and supportive environment for both pupils and staff.
Therapy dogs like Millie provide emotional comfort, reduce stress, and promote overall wellbeing through their gentle presence and unconditional love. In a school setting, they can be especially helpful for pupils experiencing anxiety, emotional difficulties, or stress, supporting them to feel safe, calm, and more ready to learn.
Therapy dogs also encourage social interaction, help build confidence in reading and communication, and support pupils in regulating their emotions during challenging moments.
Millie is already bringing warmth, joy, and connection to our school—and she’s just getting started! We’re looking forward to the many ways she’ll continue to make a difference as she progresses on her journey to becoming a fully trained therapy dog.
