Benefits of Mixed Year Groups

Mixed Year Groups

At Cadmore, we have four classes that are mixed:

Class 1 - Nursery and Reception
Class 2 - Year 1 and Year 2
Class 3 - Year 3 and Year 4
Class 4 - Year 5 and Year 6

Did you know that mixed year groups in our school have numerous benefits for both teachers and, most importantly, our pupils?

The main advantage is that our children learn at their own pace and have the opportunity to collaborate with peers of different ages, which enhances social skills and create a more inclusive learning environment.

Additionally, mixed year groups allows teachers more flexibility in curriculum planning and provide more opportunities for teachers to differentiate lessons based on individual needs.

Furthermore, it can lead to better academic outcomes and higher levels of engagement since pupils are more likely to be challenged and motivated by their peers.

Take a look at our curriculum pages where you can learn about the topics covered and the progression of skills and knowledge.
