World Book Day

3rd March 2022
The whole school celebrated World Book Day. Here is what Class 3 got up to.
Class 3 celebrated World Book Day 2022 by joining in with a worldwide World Book Day Live event which streamed seven famous authors and illustrators into our classroom. Each author/illustrator shared some of their top tips for writing or drawing and some of them even read up a snippet of their new £1 book which we can buy with our World Book Day tokens.
We also redesigned our book corner using the children's fantastic ideas and their new posters about their favourite book characters. The children took part in a quiz hunt around the school hall which tested their knowledge of the books we have read in class so far this year.
In addition to this, we have been reading in unusual ways this week including; in the forest, on the playground, in the hall on our PE equipment and also trying out reading while moving!
It has been a fantastic opportunity to share books, recommend to others and review those books we have read in school.
In our English lessons this week, we wrote letters to Robert Swindells, the author of our class book 'Ice Palace' telling him our opinions on the book.
It has been a lovely book centred week in Class 3 and we have had lots of fun along the way!
